two questions

Consciousness research distinguishes at least two levels: what neural processes change with experience and why these processes accompany subjective experience. The first question can be narrowed down by experimental methods; the latter also includes conceptual and philosophical discussion.

Kuramlar ne yapar?

Global workplace, higher order thinking and integrated knowledge approaches suggest different mechanisms. Just because a theory is interesting does not make it confirmed. Their predictions need to be differentiated from their competitors and tested empirically.

Is the behavior sufficient?

We cannot directly observe from the outside that a person or machine is conscious; We use indicators such as behavior, structure and continuity. In artificial systems, fluent language is a strong indicator of behavior, but it is not evidence of subjective experience alone.

discussion question

Which of the indicators of behavior, biological structure, memory continuity and pain avoidance do you consider most important for consciousness? Include any evidence that would change your mind.
