Question of the study
Franco Vazza's work evaluates three scenarios through the relationship between information and energy and astrophysical boundaries: the entire visible universe, Earth only, and a low-resolution Earth simulation. The author argues that the resources required in a universe with the same physical properties as ours pose a serious obstacle. The source is dated 2025; We do not present it as a discovery made today.
The limit of the result
The outcome of the study depends on which laws of physics and simulation goal are adopted. A superuniverse with different physical properties remains a separate possibility in the discussion. Therefore, it would not be correct to turn this calculation into the title "any kind of simulation is absolutely impossible".
What makes a hypothesis researchable?
Editorial thinking exercise: when two explanations give the same result for all possible observations, it becomes difficult to separate them experimentally. An interesting story is not the same as a testable model. First ask which observation could falsify the claim; Then check whether that observation actually predicts different results.
keep thinking
What measurable difference would you want to see in order to take a simulation claim seriously?
